James Wand believes that unless the children are engaged and entertained they will not pay attention to the important message. The audience is spellbound by his amazing tricks and captivated by an exciting story of secret agents and evil enemies!
James has appeared at the International Spy Museum, the White House, the Vice-President’s residence and on Fox News. The show is designed for grades pre-K through 6th grade.
I enjoyed the show as much if not more than our students did! We have a challenging group of students, and James was able to keep them all engrossed. He did not talk down to the older kids — he was on their level. Parents tell me their child is still talking about the show weeks later. I will and have been recommending him to everyone I know!

What does Operation Ready, Test, Go! teach students?
Students learn the three things to do before taking any test and the three things to do during it. James frames successful test-takers as secret agents who have a plan, prepare for the mission and handle surprises calmly, so the message is about preparation and nerves rather than content review.
When should we schedule the STAAR motivation assembly?
Most schools run it in the weeks leading up to testing, close enough that the strategies are fresh but early enough to practice them. Spring dates fill steadily from January onward, so booking well ahead is worth doing.
Our testing grades are 3rd and up. Is the show still right for the whole school?
Yes. The show is designed for pre-K through 6th grade and works as a whole-school assembly. Younger students get the preparation and confidence message without the testing pressure, and teachers have said it reinforces the strategies already taught in class.
How long does the assembly run, and what is the fee?
40 minutes. One show is $1,100 and each additional show on the same day is $500, with no travel or mileage charges anywhere in Texas.
What do you need from our campus on the day?
A clear space in the gym or on a cafeteria stage, and a parking spot. James brings his own sound system and requires no projector or A/V equipment.
