Common questions
How long is a James Wand school assembly?
Every show runs 40 minutes and is designed for pre-K through 5th and 6th grade. That fits a standard assembly slot with time either side to walk classes in and out.
How much does a school assembly show cost?
One 40-minute show is $1,100, and each additional show on the same day is $500. There are no travel or mileage fees anywhere in Texas. An additional travel fee may apply for schools outside Texas.
How many students can watch one show?
Up to 350 students per performance. Larger schools usually split into two grade-level shows, which at $500 for the second show costs less per student than one oversized assembly and lands far better with both age groups.
What does our school need to provide?
Very little. James brings his own sound system and needs no projector or A/V equipment. He can perform in the gym or on a cafeteria stage. All that is needed is a clear performance area and somewhere to park.
Which of the five programs should we choose?
Pick the one that matches something already on your calendar. Operation Read More suits book fairs and library push weeks, Operation Be Kind & Bully Free suits kindness or anti-bullying weeks, Operation Be Smart is the Red Ribbon Week show, Operation Ready, Test, Go! goes before STAAR testing, and Operation CyberSense covers digital citizenship.
How far ahead do schools usually book?
Further ahead than most expect. October Red Ribbon Week dates tend to go during the early fall, STAAR motivation dates fill across the spring, and library summer reading dates are commonly booked from January onward. Booking early also makes it easier to pair with a neighboring school for a block-booking discount.
